Daffodil Days
My heartfelt thanks goes
out to everyone who participated in the
2008 American Cancer Society Daffodil
Days Campaign from March 24-30, and
helped spring bloom in Westmoreland
County. As the first flower of spring,
the daffodil symbolizes hope and
rebirth, and through its Daffodil Days
program and your support, the American
Cancer Society is able to bring that
hope to everyone affected by cancer.
I would like to thank all of those who
supported this year's Daffodil Days by
purchasing flowers for their homes
and/or offices, as well as those who
donated flowers to area hospitals and
care facilities. This year, more than
10,000 daffodils, 650 vases, and 850
Boyds™ Bears were given in exchange for
donations, raising $88,000.
Spring arrived in Westmoreland County
because of you!
Sincerely,
Arlene Seliy, 2008 Daffodil Days
Chairperson, Westmoreland Unit
