of Kelly, Sparber, White & Associates, LLC of

Kelly, Sparber, White & Associates, LLC is a
certified public accounting firm. In addition to
partners Ron Kelly, Ed Sparber and Maryann
White, the firm has four other year-round staff
members. Ron Kelly began the firm in 1962 mainly
as a tax practice. Ed Sparber partnered with him
in 1985 and it further expanded when Maryann
White became a partner in 2003.
What sets Kelly, Sparber, White & Associates,
LLC apart from other accounting firms is the
quality of its services backed by many years of
experience. The combined years of experience of
four staff members far exceeds 100 years. “We
work great as a team. We share our knowledge
with each other and all work goes through a
comprehensive quality review process before it
leaves our office,” said White.
Kelly, Sparber , White & Associates LLC’s high
standard of excellence has shone through in
their peer review evaluation by the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
. The most recent peer review evaluation
resulted in a “clean opinion” and reported that
the firm’s “system of quality control for its
accounting and auditing practice has been
designed to meet the requirements of the quality
control standards established by the AICPA.”
White explained that not all accounting firms
participate in this program.
“We firmly believe in offering quality services
and by participating in the peer review program,
we can ensure that we are doing so and meeting
professional standards,” said White.
Kelly, Sparber, White & Associates, LLC is also
highly involved with the community. Ed Sparber
is on the Board of Directors for the Union
Mission of Latrobe and for the Girl Scouts of
Westmoreland County. Maryann White is on the
Board of Directors for the Latrobe Area Chamber
of Commerce. Both Ed and Maryann are members of
the Latrobe Rotary Club where they are involved
with many community projects.
The firm’s background overall is quite
impressive, and so is the experience of the
partners and staff members. Maryann White joined
the firm in 2001 and became a member/partner in
2003. She graduated from the University of
Pittsburgh, Johnstown with a Bachelor of Arts in
Business/Economics with a dual concentration in
Accounting and Finance. She is a Certified
Public Accountant and is
Accredited in Business Valuation. She is
also a member of the Institute of Business
Appraisers, the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants, and the Pennsylvania
Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Maryann specializes in the valuation of small,
closely-held businesses as well as financial
planning and taxes, and has been a CPA for over
15 years.
Ed joined the Firm in 1982 and became a partner
in 1985. He graduated from Waynesburg College
with a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration. He is a Certified Public
Accountant and a
Certified Financial Planner. Ed specializes
in complex tax issues, financial planning, and
estate planning.
Ron, founder of the firm, is an Accredited Tax
Advisor and Public Accountant. He is also an
enrolled agent with the IRS.
In addition, staff member Linda Chomko has been
a CPA for over 15 years and is working towards
becoming a Certified Financial Planner. Linda
specializes in taxes and brings to the firm many
years of experience in this area, including
international taxation.
Maryann, Ed, and Linda all worked for some of
the largest, international public accounting
firms in the world prior to joining the firm of
Kelly, Sparber, White & Associates, LLC.
