Seventh Annual March for Parks

 March 28, 2009,

Check In Begins: 9:00a.m.
March Starts: 10:30a.m.

Keeping Westmoreland County Green… One Step at a Time.

Update Note:  2008's event was a great success. Thank you to all our sponsors, volunteer staff, and especially to the great crowd that comes out to march. This annual event is becoming a tradition of great benefit to Westmoreland County Parks.

We developed the March for Parks to raise funds for the acquisition of key parcels of land next to existing parks and key parcels needed for the development of biking and hiking trails throughout the County. The March has grown a lot in the four years since its inception. We had a total of 100 marchers in 2003. That numbered has skyrocketed to 475 marchers for 2008! We raised a total of $$52,000 with the help of our marchers and over 60 business sponsors. This was truly an example of the community pulling together to improve the "quality of life" in our area.

To all Sponsors, Marchers, Team Captains, and event volunteers - We thank you for your personal gift of dollars, time and energy to help us improve our County parks and-trails.

We invite you to visit our website at www.co.westmoreland.pa.us/parks.  Click on the March for Parks link to check out pictures of, the event, final team standings and more!
