Shopfinder - Alliance of
Automotive Service Providers of Pennsylvania

Find a Qualified Automotive Service Provider Near You!

Looking for a quality automotive repair shop, auto body shop, towing service or service station near you? InWestmoreland is proud to welcome the ShopFinder, from the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Pennsylvania, to our site. The system quickly searches for an AASP member in your city or zip code, even looking for a particular shop if you know the name.

Those familiar with the history of InWestmoreland know that we began our site after failing to find a needed towing service online. While our work led us to create a directory of businesses, services, and events in Westmoreland County, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of PA has created a wonderful tool that not only allows you to find towing services where and when you need them, but to easily get shop addresses and phone numbers, as well as email and website links where available.

When using the ShopFinder, you pick the type of shop you are searching for and fill in any or all of the available fields. Then the AASP-PA website tries to find a shop that fits your needs. It can be as simple selecting the “Mechanical” category and typing in your zip code. Click on the submit button and check your results.

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Pennsylvania serves as the voice of independent automotive service providers. Maintaining an office in Harrisburg, they make every effort to keep their members abreast of issues and legislation affecting the automotive service industry. From emissions and safety inspection to environmental and insurance issues, the AASP-PA works alongside their national association (the AASP) to strengthen the industry both for the benefit of its members and consumers.

The history of the AASP of PA goes all the way back to 1955, when a group of garage owners in Lancaster County formed the Independent Garage Owners of Pennsylvania, Inc. At the same time in Oklahoma, Ralph James was helping to form the IGOA, the Independent Garage Owners of America.

Since these early movements in the 1950’s, the Association has grown, merged, changed names and undergone a remarkable transformation to become the 2,000 member organization it is today. Services offered include training seminars, trade shows, a comprehensive video library, leadership training conferences, insurance discounts, and the publication of one of the most respected magazines in the industry, the multi-award winning Pennsylvania Automotive & Insider News magazine.

If you are an automotive service provider, there are many reasons to join the Association. The AASP-PA lists 48 benefits including Equipment Discounts, the ability to offer Extended Warranty Agreements to your customers, and the benefit of being listed in the ShopFinder, which is certain to be of growing benefit as more and more consumers look for needed information online.
