Evan
is a very special teen who
has a condition known as
Costello Syndrome. Costello
Syndrome is incredibly rare
and affects multiple organ
systems of the body.
Children with this disorder
often experience difficulty
with eating, developmental
delays, and heart
abnormalities. Evan has had
numerous surgeries
throughout his young life.
In addition, Evan has
scoliosis.
Recently, this amazing kid
enjoyed a much-needed break
from his worries for a
precious while thanks to his
friends at Kids Wish
Network, an organization
that grants wishes to
children with life
threatening illnesses. Evan
was referred to the charity
by someone in his community
who had learned about Kids
Wish Network and wanted to
help. Evan’s mother, Sandra,
was delighted to later find
out that Evan was indeed
eligible for a wish.
When Kids Wish Network wish
coordinator, Jill, called to
find out what Evan wanted to
do for his wish, he didn’t
hesitate. Evan wanted to go
to Disney World.
From there began Evan’s
unforgettable adventure to
the Sunshine State. His wish
coordinator, Jill, took
care of all the details,
including airfare, hotel
accommodations, theme park
tickets, and more. Wish
Funding Specialist, Tanya,
was able to garner the
generous support of numerous
people in the area who
wanted to help sponsor
Evan’s trip. It was going to
be a spectacular experience.
During Evan’s special trip
to Orlando, he took full
advantage of his busy
itinerary. Evan had a blast
visiting the various parks
in the area and also enjoyed
some extra fun things Jill
had planned. In addition to
passes to Wonderworks,
Orlando’s famous
‘upside-down’
museum, Jill also had
reservations for the family
at the Pirates Dinner
Adventure Theater where
patrons enjoy a delicious
dinner while watching a
live, interactive pirate
show.
Evan returned home from his
trip tired but with plenty
of wonderful memories. It
was definitely an experience
this courageous teen will
never forget.
