2008 Memory Walk - This event will take place on Saturday, September 13th, starting at 9:00a.m. Walk Start: 10:00a.m., at Legion Keener Park, 1658 Catherine Street, Latrobe, PA. The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Pennsylvania Chapter’s Memory Walk is our signature event, attended by nearly 7,000 people across the 21 walks that we host in the 59-county territory served by the Chapter. It is estimated that nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians currently live with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Nationally, the number of people with Alzheimer’s is expected to quadruple over the next fifty years if no cure is found. Your support ensures that those who are directly affected by dementia, as well as those who struggle with seeing their loved ones suffer, are able to find the compassion, education, and continued assistance they need from the Chapter. Proceeds from the Memory Walks support these valuable services as well as funding research aimed at finding treatments and a cure for this disease.  We hope you will join us in taking steps to eventually end Alzheimer’s and continue our support for today’s courageous caregivers while creating a future without this debilitating disease.
