May 2004 marks an
anniversary for
InWestmoreland.com, its
first 20 months of service!
In that time, InWestmoreland
has grown from an unknown
website to a successful
local search engine,
providing consumers with
information on products,
services, and events right
here in Westmoreland County.
The site also features
extensive parks and
recreation information, as
well as online discount
coupons.
To give an idea of growth
this year, traffic in the
first 15 days of March alone
was nearly double the number
of visitors the site
experienced during its
entire first quarter of
operation in 2002. “In one
month of 2002,
InWestmoreland.com provided
1,719 page views of
information to interested
consumers,” explained Scot
Noel, co-owner of
InWestmoreland.com. “This
year that total can be
exceeded on any given day,
and we are often exceeding
an average of one visitor
per minute. Every time I
turn around, it gets
better.”
In March, 2004, Google’s
Guide’s and Directories area
for Westmoreland County
listed InWestmoreland.com as
the top Westmoreland County
online directory.
What can you find on
InWestmoreland.com? The site
lists over 470 links to
participating business and
community resources. Great
Places™ articles inform you
of the best local businesses
to try, from day spas and
doctors, to theatres and
restaurants. There is a
little bit of everything,
including discount coupons
you can print out for use at
your convenience. Parks and
Recreation information is
available for Westmorland
County Parks, State Parks,
and Local Parks.
A national Google Adwords
advertising campaign brings
over 1,000 new users to the
site each month.
As useful as the site is to
consumers, it can provide
equal benefits to small
business. Local companies
without a website can
acquire a basic
InWestmoreland web page for
as little as $100 per year.
Higher-end packages include
up to six pictures and 1200
words of text for as little
as $275 per year, all costs
included (less than many
traditional websites charge
for hosting alone).
“In 2004 we created a new
add-on package that allows
InWestmoreland web owners to
update messages on their own
sites,” Scot went on to
explain. “As often as they
want, from any online
computer, they can change
daily specials, weekly
promotions, and important
messages – whatever they
want.”
InWestmoreland.com is home
to web pages for the
Westmoreland Scenic
Railroad, Westmoreland
County Commission for Women
and Families, Westmoreland
County Parks & Recreation
Citizen’s Advisory Board,
Westmoreland County Blind
Association – Embroidery
Division, the InWestmoreland

InWestmoreland.com also
provides full website design
and hosting, and boasts an
impressive array of
completed projects,
including the site for this
year’s Westmoreland County
Arts & Heritage Festival (www.ArtsandHeritage.com).
Each site is artistically
geared to best suit its
purpose and audience, from
designing the Internet
presence for Platinum Salon

to the fine gift gallery of
Shirley Family Gifts (www.ShirleyFamilyGifts.com).

In an exciting new venture,
InWestmoreland.com has
joined forces with Inspiring
Times Publications to help
launch a new Westmoreland
County magazine. Inspiring
Times InWestmoreland is the
result, a slick-cover,
bi-monthly newszine that
links the website and
publication together in ways
that benefit both. Now there
will be even more on-line
articles and coupons, as
well as advertising packages
for local business that take
advantage of both direct
mail and Internet benefits.
