Lisa
Fox, Principal of Fox's
Worth Consulting of
Cleardale Drive in
Greensburg was named the
2004-2005 Westmoreland Human
Resources Association (WHRA)
Human Resources Professional
of the Year during the
association's annual
conference at the Sheraton
Four Points Hotel in
Greensburg on Thursday, May
13.
This
award recognizes the human
resources professional who
lives or works in
Westmoreland County and who
displays impeccable ethical
standards and qualities by
serving as a role model,
setting standards which
others emulate, has helped
to design and implement an
organization's core
strategic value, and who has
shared professional
expertise to external
organizations or has created
projects, activities,
practices, or programs
within the human resources
arena.
The
primary criteria used in
selecting Ms. Fox were
Internal Contributions,
External Contributions, The
Ability to Overcome
Challenges, and
Memberships/Certifications.
Ms.
Fox was presented with an
award plaque and check for
$250.00 by the
organization's 2003-2004
recipient, Catherine Giunta
of Seton Hill University.
Ms. Fox, a current board
member, a past president,
and one of the
organization's founders, has
an extensive background in
compensation, recruitment
and selection, performance
management, employee
relations, human resources
information systems,
benefits administration, and
equal employment
opportunity. She has 15 plus
years of human resources
experience with Fortune 500
companies, a leading
manufacturer of medical
equipment, a
training/software company,
and as an independent
consultant. In those
positions, Lisa applied her
experience and expertise in
organizational development,
performance management,
compensation, recruitment
and selection, and training
and development.
Ms.
Fox has developed and
conducted training programs
in performance management,
team building, problem
solving, the Americans with
Disabilities Act, the Family
Medical Leave Act, and
sexual harassment. Lisa has
also instructed "Critical
Issues in Human Resources
Management," a class in the
graduate program at Seton
Hill University as well as
instructed classes for
Westmoreland County
Community College in job
search skills, team
building, work types
(Myers-Briggs), starting a
small business, and issues
involving sexual harassment
and its prevention.
Lisa
holds a Masters degree in
Human Resources Management
from LaRoche College. She is
also a member of the
Pittsburgh Human Resources
Association, the Society for
Human Resource Management
and their Consultant's
Professional Emphasis Group,
and the World At Work
(formerly the American
Compensation Association).
She is currently a board
member of the Human
Resources Education
Consortium that provides
staff development management
training to human services
agencies and associations.
Formerly, she has served as
a member of the human
resources advisory committee
of the Pittsburgh Technology
Council. Lisa has also been
involved with Junior
Achievement as both a
speaker and volunteer and as
a board member of Big
Brothers and Big Sisters of
Westmoreland County.
This
year's conference theme was
"Moving Forward!" as the
WHRA focused on issues that
will assist the entire
organization's mission on
the future in serving the
business and community needs
of Westmoreland County and
the surrounding region.
