Resident Waterfowl Hunting Season
in County Parks

Hunting for resident waterfowl (geese) will be permitted at the lakefront areas of Westmoreland County’s Chestnut Ridge Park, Bridgeport Dam Park, Mammoth Park, Twin Lakes Park, and Northmoreland Park during the September, November, and December through February hunting seasons. All Federal Law and the Pennsylvania Game Commission Rules and Regulations will be followed.

Special Hunting Dates and times have been set for Twin Lakes Park, Mammoth Park, and Northmoreland Park. Due to walkers and picnickers at the lakefronts, hunting will only be permitted from one half (1/2) hour before dawn to 9:00 A.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, through out all the regulated hunting seasons beginning on September 7th. 2004. The lakefront areas of the parks will be posted and closed to the public at these times to permit safe hunting.

Resident Goose Hunting at Twin Lakes Park shall be limited to twenty hunters on each scheduled day. For those not pre-registered, hunters will be given permission to hunt on a first-come first-served basis.

Hunters are permitted to set decoys, hunt the fly zones, and retrieve the bagged game with dogs in the designated safe hunting areas that adjoin the lakes. For further information on hunting in the Westmoreland County Parks, please contact 724-830-3950.
