The Norwin Police Athletic
League (PAL) will host "Cheermania",
our first annual
cheerleading competition on
Sunday, September 19, 2004
at the Norwin High School
gymnasium.
Norwin PAL has competed in
cheerleading competitions in
Allegheny, Beaver and Butler
counties for the past 5
years. We are proud of the
accomplishments of these
fine athletes who have won
many 1st – 4th place
trophies and a spirit award.
The past two years, three of
our squads won state titles
but were unable to compete
at the regional levels due
to monetary reasons.
The Norwin PAL cheerleading
program has grown
dramatically over the past
few years. Initially, our
cheerleaders, aged 5-13
years old, cheered and
performed halftime routines
at nine PAL football games.
Last year, due to an
overwhelming interest in the
sport, we formed
competition-only squads in
addition to the football
cheerleading squads. This
year, we added a senior
squad for high school level
cheerleaders. We presently
have 84 competition and 71
football cheerleaders.
The purpose of this
competition is to raise
funds for the Norwin PAL
Competition Squads. It will
enable us to purchase new
equipment, uniforms, attend
training camps, and help
defray the cost of
competition fees and travel
costs associated with
cheerleading competitions.
We would greatly appreciate
your support to promote
youth activities in the
Norwin community by becoming
a sponsor, purchasing a
business ad, making monetary
contributions or donating
food, merchandise, gift
certificates, etc. Thank you
in advance for your support
of our first annual
Cheermania. For more
information on sponsorship,
please call Tom Cifone at
724-446-5724.
