Couples are realizing that
having housing needs doesn't
have to mean paying rent.
Some of our most enjoyable
and rewarding experiences
involve first time home-
buyers, and their excitement
at finding the right house.
The more prepared you are,
the better your chances are
for finding the house of
your dreams. Here is an
overview of how to find the
right house.
-
Choose a Realtor -
Finding the right
realtor can save time,
money, and frustration.
Select someone that
knows the local market
and listens to you.
-
Determine Your Price
Range - Talk to a
mortgage lender to find
both your borrowing
ability and your comfort
zone for a payment. Ask
the lender about total
cost to get into a
house, including closing
costs, prepaids and down
payments.
-
Consider Location -
Distance to work,
relatives, shopping,
etc. Many buyers sell
their house within five
to seven years, so
consider resale value.
-
Prepare a Checklist -
What do you need and
want in a house? How
many bedrooms and
bathrooms? Style of
house, type of property,
finished basement? What
about room for a growing
family?
Happy
House Hunting!
