DeNunzio Appointed to Board of Westmoreland Cultural Trust

Tony DeNunzio, Sr. has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Westmoreland Cultural Trust, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of living in the Westmoreland County region by valuing and preserving its cultural and historic assets, and by providing programs and other activities, through partnerships and educational opportunities where appropriate, that will support and enhance the cultural and historic aspect of our communities.

A Jeannette native, DeNunzio has been active in various endeavors throughout the Westmoreland County area. These endeavors include volunteering his talents for local organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, The United Way, the YMCA, and the Jeannette Community Band. DeNunzio received the1988 Jeannette Jaycees Man of Year Award and the 1994 Jeannette School District’s Most Outstanding Alumnus Award.

An accomplished musician (saxophone and clarinet), DeNunzio served in the United States Army and attended Cleveland College, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Houston, where he studied banking and finance. He retired in 1997 as the Senior Vice President of Community Savings Bank. He is a member of the popular band, The Selections.

DeNunzio resides in Jeanette, and has four children - one of whom is owner/operator of the locally well-known, DeNunzio’s Restaurant - and six grandchildren.

The Westmoreland Cultural Trust owns and operates The Palace Theatre, the Greensburg Train Station and the historic Stark/James and Union Trust Buildings.

In addition, the Westmoreland Cultural Trust manages the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center and recently merged with the Greensburg Area Cultural Council.
