Referred to as “a portable mini billboard”, it is one of the most inexpensive and under used advertising/marketing/PR resources available. The back side of a business card provides a great opportunity to promote your business. Here are some strategies to help get the most of out of your card.
-
Turn it into an Appointment Card. This eliminates the need for separate business and appointment cards, reducing costs.
-
Use Before and After Photos. A picture is worth a thousand words!
-
Incorporate Motivational or Inspirational Quotes. One of our favorites: “The sole purpose of being in business is to make a profit.” —Andrew Carnegie
-
Add a Checklist. Great for mortgage companies. They can create a helpful list of items needed for closing.
-
Develop a Tips, Tricks, or Hints List. Use three of four things that might make work/life easier for someone. E.g., how to dress for a photograph, stain removal tips, etc.
-
Use as a Discount/Gift Card. Offer the bearer of the card a discount, a free gift, consultation, etc.
-
Show Appreciation. Example: It was a pleasure to meet you. I hope we have the opportunity to do business together.
-
Emergency Information. Provide instructions on steps to take in an emergency situation and emergency phone numbers.
-
The back of a business card can also be used as a referral resource, provide a map to your location, and hours of operation, as well as many other advertising opportunities.
