In what is being billed as one of the biggest fundraising parties in Greensburg in recent years, the Westmoreland Cultural Trust is bringing “Hollywood” to The Palace Theatre on Saturday, February 25, 2006. Hollywood Party at The Palace will be Greensburg’s own version of a gala awards evening celebrating the film industry.
Beginning at 7:00 P.M., patrons arriving for the gala will enjoy a red carpet treatment complete with spotlights and applause. The evening’s fun and excitement features live performances of beloved movie songs, re-enactments of favorite movie clips and delectable food and drink, with a rousing ending to the evening on the theatre’s stage. Three levels of tickets are available at $75, $100 and $125 apiece.
Anthony Marino, owner and artistic director of Stage Right, and John Noble, local attorney and performer, will arrange and coordinate the entertainment.
Stephanie Tomasic, Executive Director of Overly’s Country Christmas, leads the Decorating Committee, transforming the courtyard of Megan’s Intermission Suite into a Hollywood wonderland.
Michael Philopena and George Shaner, owners of Vacation Station Travel Center, are co-chairing the Food and Beverage Committee and have invited several area restaurateurs to prepare unique hors d’oeurves and specialty drinks.
Other chairpersons are Linda Austin and Jamie McHugh, Invitations and Programs Committee; Larry Sedlemeyer, Publicity Committee; Nancy Anderson, Coat check Committee; Kathleen Hollahan and Sally Rager, Acquisitions Committee, which will offer movie-themed gift packages for silent auction.
The Trust will be selling raffle tickets at the event for a trip to Hollywood. The tickets are $10 apiece and based on the Daily Number for February 25, the night of the event. Anyone wishing to purchase raffle tickets or tickets to attend Hollywood Party at The Palace may contact the Westmoreland Cultural Trust administrative office, 724-836-1123. |
