A New Art Adventure comes to
SWPA! Young Rembrandts view
drawing as a skill that can
and should be learned by all
children. This innovative
drawing program is available
for the first time to local
school districts.
Founded in 1988, Young
Rembrandts is a nationally
recognized leader in art
education with 61 locations
in 47 states. Cynthia Oliver
recently joined as the
newest executive director
for the SWPA territory.
Any child can learn and
enjoy drawing using the
Young Rembrandts method and
at the same time develop
spatial reasoning, fine
motor skills, visualization,
and self-discipline.
Young Rembrandts partners
with pre-schools &
elementary schools to
augment their art education
program for children ages 3
– 12. Young Rembrandts has a
solid reputation for
teaching an original, high
quality curriculum. Classes
are generally 45 – 50
minutes in length and are
held on-site at your child’s
school directly after
school. The affordable fees
range from $8.50 - $10.50
per class, are family funded
and include all materials.
“The visible academic and
art benefits are so great
for children participating
in our program. Young
Rembrandts’ students have
fun while developing
fundamental art literacy and
improved abilities on many
levels,” Oliver contends .
“Our vision is to raise
generations that value the
power, passion and
significance of art,” she
concluded. Recently a local
Young Rembrandts student won
first place in the
Westmoreland Intermediate
Unit’s Champions of Art
Competition.
