At
their February 13th meeting,
held at the Bishop Connare
Center, the Greensburg
Chapter of the BPW honored
Jane Yeager Noel as their
Woman of the Year for 2007 -
2008.
The honor came as a complete
surprise to Jane Noel,
literally. Scheduled
to present a talk on web
design, Jane soon found that
she had really been invited
to receive the Woman of the
Year award. Adding to
the surprise, over 40 of
Jane’s friends, family, and
business associates paraded
into the meeting bearing
balloons, flowers, and gifts
for the honoree.
Binging more than gifts,
those attending to honor
Jane Noel collectively
donated some $1200 to the
Greensburg BPW scholarship
fund in Jane’s name.
Several speakers took the
podium to speak on Jane’s
behalf and how she has
helped them personally and
in their businesses over the
years, including former
President of the Norwin
Chamber of Commerce and
Westmoreland County Athena
Award Winner, Margaree
Pertle.
The Woman of the Year award
is given to a member who has
contributed the most to the
advancement of the
objectives and ideals of the
BPW (Greensburg Business and
Professional Women).
