Home Helpers Helps Seniors Stay  Independent Longer

Located at One Northgate Square in Greensburg, Home Helpers offers experienced home care and companionship for seniors, new moms, and families throughout Westmoreland County.

Home Helpers’ caregivers provide clients with non-medical care and companionship whenever needed. This includes companionship, bathing, dressing, feeding, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation to a doctor’s office, prescription pick-ups, errand services, and more!

For seniors, Home Helper’s offers a safe and affordable way to remain active and independent in the comfort of their own home, often for longer than would otherwise be possible. In addition to at home services, Home Helper’s caregivers can be found in retirement communities, nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and more. The goal is to give families peace of mind knowing their loved ones are happy, healthy, and well cared for.

Home Helpers has a Direct Link program for emergencies too. Direct Link is a 24 hour personal emergency response system. With the touch of a button, this system allows for 2-way voice communication between the client and an Emergency Operator.

Marion Kessler, President and owner of the Northgate Square facility, opened Home Helpers / Direct Link on June 1, 2007. Named #1 in Senior Care two years in a row by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2006 and 2007, Home Helpers is an established national care-giving franchise system with over 600 locations in North America. Marion’s office services Fayette, Westmoreland, and Allegheny Counties.

Marion Started Home Helpers because she has an extensive background of caring for clients in their homes, personal care homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and Alzheimer’s units. She opened her home in 2001 to children with mental and physical challenges, working to show them love and appreciation, and helping them know someone cared about them. She even became a permanent foster mother to one of the children. Marion’s dream was always to have a small business of her own, and Home Helpers was a perfect fit.

Home Helpers specializes in non-medical care for seniors, new moms, and families, including clients recovering from injury and surgery, as well as those requiring long term care. Caregivers are carefully screened, bonded, and insured. Service hours are flexible, and there are no hourly shift minimums. Most long term care insurance is accepted.

Home Helpers has also partnered with Solutions for Better Aging. This means their clients can access over 20,000 products that are shipped discreetly right to the client’s home.

Marion is proud to offer many services that make Home Helpers’ client’s lives easier, fulfilling her own business goals while allowing her clients to live more satisfying, independent lives in the comfort of their current surroundings.
