Dr. Gail
Lundquist-Tobias is a specialist in
orthodontics, working with both children
and adults. Her practice offers a
personalized approach, friendly staff
and consistent interaction between
doctor and patient. Dr. Gail sees every
patient at every visit, getting to know
each patient individually.
What makes
our office unique?
Dr. Gail Lundquist-Tobias and her team
are especially interested in making the
patients feel right at home! In
too many offices, patients experience
long waits, impersonal care, and office
visits where the patient often goes
without seeing the doctor. Dr.
Gail's office is different.
Working with only four patient chairs
and scheduling accordingly, Dr.
Lundquist-Tobias is able to spend time
with each patient at their routine
appointments. |

Her team has
years of experience in treating patients with the
highest level of care and attention. They
provide a professional, but fun-loving orthodontic
experience to each patient and strive to make it a
positive interaction for the parents as well.
As a small token of appreciation Dr. Gail gives each
patient a keepsake photo album showing the "before"
and "after" pictures of the patient's "Stellar
Smile" following orthodontic treatment.
Besides the personal atmosphere in the office, the
doctor and team pride themselves in the use of the
latest state-of-the-art technology. Dr. Gail
offers her patients the benefit of the new
Accu-Myopulse System. The revolutionary system
is simple to use by the patient and offers
accelerated healing and immediate, measurable pain
relief. Following an appointment, the patient
is encouraged to spend a little time at the
Accu-Myopulse Station to help reduce the amount of
discomfort they may feel that day or the following
day. Dr. Gail's patients love the
Accu-Myopulse and the relief it provides!
In addition, the
doctor uses a Diode Laser to perform soft-tissue
procedures right in the comfort of her office.
The Diode Laser is practical and painless and is
used to expose impacted teeth and to enhance the
patient's smile esthetically by removing excess gum
tissue. The laser, which stands for Light
Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation,
is FDA approved, precise, and effective.
What is an Orthodontist?
An orthodontist
is a specialist whose practice is limited to
orthodontic treatment only. Orthodontists are
dentists who have two or three years of full-time
advanced study beyond dental school. They acquire
special skills required to manage tooth movement and
understand oral/facial relations and development.
 |
Some general
dentists practice orthodontics, but
these dentists are not orthodontic
specialists. Before investing in braces,
make sure you are working with a
qualified orthodontist. Dr.
Lundquist-Tobias has the training,
skills and techniques to provide every
patient an individualized treatment plan
to achieve the best orthodontic results.
Dr. Gail Lundquist-Tobias is a member of
the AAO (American Association of
Orthodontists). All members of the AAO
are orthodontic specialists. The
educational requirements of the AAO
conform to the requirements established
by the ADA (American Dental
Association).

What Does an Orthodontist Do?
An orthodontist
corrects malocclusions

(crooked teeth that don’t fit
together properly) and
malformations of the teeth
and jaws. Orthodontists use braces and other
orthodontic appliances to improve smiles and dental
health, making children and adults look and feel
better.
It is sometimes necessary to create a treatment plan
to correct problems surgically, in conjunction with
orthodontic treatment. Dr. Lundquist-Tobias works
closely with oral surgeons providing the corrective
jaw surgery. Dr. Gail will prepare the patient’s
teeth leading up to surgery, and follow-up
post-operatively to make certain the teeth align
correctly as the patient completes their treatment.
Orthodontics is about more than just a pretty smile.
Crooked and crowded teeth are harder to keep clean,
contributing to tooth decay and gum disease. Other
problems that can arise are abnormal wear of tooth
surfaces, excess stress on supporting bone and gum
tissues, pains in the face and jaw, and even chronic
headaches.
Treatment by a specialist is often less costly than
the serious problems that can develop years later if
dental malocclusions are left untreated.
