staff first became aware of Banquets Unlimited through our association with the
Norwin Chamber of Commerce. The first Wednesday of each month, the Chamber holds
its Monthly Membership Luncheon at Banquets Unlimited, and although the luncheon
boasts excellent speakers and provides a great networking opportunity, this
writer would be lying if he didn't admit to attending the event in anticipation
of one of the best meals he is likely to enjoy each month.
"The quality of the food is our first priority," said owner Ron
Tarquinio. "All of our meals are home cooked. That's what brings people back."
From wedding receptions and bridal showers to business events and funerals,
Banquets Unlimited handles it all. They are a full service caterer, committed to
treating each customer with exceptional care and professionalism, whether the
event is a small party or a gala event hosting 300. And with Ron personally in
charge of the recipes, you can expect a large variety of popular choices,
including such favorites as St. Michael's chicken, a pounded out chicken breast,
sautéed with mushrooms and julienne strips of ham and cheese, topped off with
gravy and oven-baked. Don't forget the butter glazed summer vegetables and
potatoes!
Of the many inquiries Banquets Unlimited is receiving this year,
there is great interest in weddings held in the picturesque garden, under the
gazebo, with the reception to be held inside.
Banquets Unlimited is located where the old Kricks catering used to
be, at 544 Caruthers Lane in Irwin. They have just celebrated their first year
in Irwin, although Ron is no newcomer to the banquet and catering business.
Banquets Unlimited has its main facility in Wilmerding, where it has been in
successful operation for over 10 years. As an owner of catering services, Ron's
experience goes back at least 17 years, having started out working from a humble
storefront in McKees Rocks, but there were many years before that spent earning
his stripes in the industry.
"What makes us different from our competitors?" Ron continued,
"price, quality, and service. Word of mouth is our most important recognition
for a job well done."
