Parts Company
Parts for all Major Brand Appliances
If you
are looking to extend the life of a major appliance, or save money by repairing
that aging stove, refrigerator, or dishwasher, you owe yourself a visit to
Appliance Parts Company at 612 Alexander Street in Greensburg. Even today, the
cost of a major appliance means they are hardly disposable items; and you are
likely to have hundreds of dollars invested in a unit you expect to last for
years. But when your major appliance needs a new part, what do you do? An
appliance repair call can cost a significant fraction of buying something new,
with most of the expense tied up in the labor to replace a $20 part!
If you are of the "I can fix it," mentality, there is no substitute for
Appliance Parts Company. This is where many repairmen come to buy their parts,
and where you can find replacement items for every major appliance, including
stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, air conditioners,
microwaves, water heaters, and furnaces. Brands include Whirlpool, Kenmore,
Frigidaire, Tappan, Kelvinator, Gibson, Maytag, Admiral, Amana, and Caloric.
In a typical day, customers at Appliance Parts Company come in for range and
dryer elements, timers, thermostats, and washer pumps. They come from all over
Westmoreland County and beyond: New Kensington, Latrobe, Ligonier, Mount
Pleasant, Scottdale, Connellsville, and Carnegie. You'll hear them say:
"My dad used to bring me here when I was a kid."
"I never knew you where
here, but my neighbor told me."
"I know, if I can't get it here, I can't
get it anywhere."
Appliance Parts can provide parts for the latest units,
or find those hard-to-get appliance repair items for major appliances going back
to the 50's and 60's. They have the ability to research parts in the old
microfiche technology and even older books, items impossible to find on the new
CDs and websites.
During your visit, you will find a friendly and
knowledgeable staff in Bill and Susie. Bill especially has been likened to a
walking encyclopedia of parts information; he can walk you through most
replacement procedures in a manner more pleasant than spending an hour on the
phone with a technician from a foreign county (something all too common on
service calls these days).
At Appliance Parts Company in Greensburg, a
thorough selection of parts is always kept on stock; however, items can be
ordered from the manufacturer when necessary, usually with a three day
turnaround. Some hard to find parts may take longer.
Poole's Home
Appliance Company was founded by Bill and Susie's father, Earl Poole, in 1955.
At the time, this family owned business both sold and serviced appliances, but
within a decade it had found its true specialty in supplying parts and gave up
on the retail sale of the appliances themselves, changing the business name to
Appliance Parts Company. Coming from a large family and determined to help,
Earl's success was an old-fashioned story of hard work and determination. His
business philosophy was "Truth and honesty, to myself and my customers." It is a
philosophy which has never been abandoned, and which serves the customers of
Appliance Parts Company today as well as it did half a century ago.
These
days most appliances come equipped with smart boards, circuit chips, and gizmos
undreamt of in Earl's day. But the more complicated they make them, the more
that can go wrong. If you are having trouble with your appliance today, you owe
it to yourself to give Appliance Parts a call. Bring in the part you suspect of
going bad and have it tested. Just because a dryer refuses to heat doesn't mean
the heating element has gone bad, so before you make a wrong diagnosis and
purchase a part you may not need (sometimes non-returnable), get some good
advice from the folks at Appliance Parts Company.
Appliance Parts Company
does its best to keep costs low for you. They don't accept credit cards, and
that allows them to keep prices reasonable and help alleviate the panic of
major appliance repair.
