Give Daffodils. Give Hope.
Sister Bea Abril, SC, has been appointed chairperson of
the 33rd annual American Cancer Society Daffodil Days in
Westmoreland County.
The fundraiser, which is coming this spring, is expected to
raise $79,000 locally and $4 million in the state of
Pennsylvania. This is the third year that Sister Bea is
coordinating activities for the sale of daffodils in
Westmoreland County. 'Once again, I'm honored to be the
chair of the Daffodil Days campaign for the Westmoreland
Unit. Our goal of raising $79,000 this year will help bring
us closer to the American Cancer Society's mission of
eliminating cancer as a major health problem,' she says.
Joining Sister Bea on the committee organizing this event
are Judy Palicka, of Darragh; Becky Bortz, Cheryl Flock,
Shelley Polechko, Ginny Weinberg and Susan Zellner, of
