Safety with Your Canine Companion
There are so many fun things we want to do with our
puppies. Go for walks, let them have a fun run in the field,
go for a ride in the car, play fetch with a toy. BUT they
also need our guidance and protection. So my safety facts
are as follows:
- HAVE PROPER COLLAR and ID for your Dog. Name
Tags/Rabies Tag/License/ Microchip or Tattoo.
- USE A LEASH at all times unless you are in a fenced
in yard.
- USE A CRATE or SAFTEY BELT when driving in a car.
- NEVER drive with your pets in an OPEN truck bed.
- NEVER leave the back window the whole way down with
your dog in the back seat. He can jump out or get thrown
out if you stop suddenly.
- NEVER let your dog out of the car until the leash is
ON.
- NEVER leave your dog in a car for any length of time
unsupervised.
- STICKS are not toys, they can get caught in the roof
of their mouth, or if playing with a small child or
another dog, someone can get an eye poked out.
- NEVER corner or chase your dog when trying to
retrieve something from them, always call the dog to
you.
- DO ENROLL in a puppy (12 weeks) or adult training
class that uses POSITIVE Methods.
