Stand-Alone Chick-fil-A
Restaurant in Greensburg
Chick-fil-A, Inc. has started construction on its first
stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant in Greensburg which is
projected to open in January 2007.
The new stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant, located at
5156 Rt. 30, Eastgate Plaza, is expected to generate
approximately 65 new jobs.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. has continued its unprecedented 38-year
run of consecutive sales gains since it started in 1967. The
company reported 2005 system-wide sales of more than 1.975
billion, resulting in a 13.1 percent increase over 2004
figures and a positive 5.87 percent same-store sales
performance.
Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy is marking several other
milestones this year, including the 60th year anniversary of
the opening of his first restaurant, the Dwarf Grill in
Hapeville, Ga., from which the Chick-fil-A chain was
launched, and the 20th anniversary of its first stand-alone
restaurant which opened in 1986. Also, the third generation
has entered the Chick-fil-A business with Cathys grandson
becoming a restaurant operator in St. Petersburg, FL in
January.
Credited with inventing the original boneless breast of
chicken sandwich and introducing the chicken nugget concept,
Chick-fil-A serves nutritious and freshly prepared food
products in malls, stand-alone units, Chick-fil-A Dwarf
House and Truetts Grill full-service restaurants, and
through licensed outlets on college campuses and in
hospitals, airports, and other locations.
Chick-fil-A is the nations second-largest quick-service
chicken restaurant chain with more than 1,268 restaurants in
37 states and Washington D.C. The chain expects to add more
than 72 locations in 2007, including 61 stand-alone
