Daffodil Day!  This event will take place from Monday, March 15th through Sunday, March 21st.  Let cancer patients know that someone cares about them, wants to brighten their days, and is committed to the fight against cancer. Give the gift of hope, and purchase bouquets of daffodils to be delivered to cancer patients in our local community.

Westmoreland Cultural Trust Presents - New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP) feature their professional repertory company in the comic opera The Pirates of Penzance.  This event will take place on Friday, March 19th, starting at 7:30p.m., at The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman Street, Greensburg PA. Join the band of swashbuckling buccaneers, bumbling British bobbies, frolicsome Victorian maidens, and the delightfully dotty “model of a modern Major-General” for a rollicking romp over the rocky coast of Cornwall. Presented by Westmoreland Cultural Trust, audiences age 5 to 95 will enjoy this exuberant musical theatre masterpiece, directed and conducted by Albert Bergeret with choreography by Bill Fabris, performed in its original format with the cast of 23 and 17-piece live orchestra.  Tickets:  Adult tickets are $26 and $38. Youth tickets age 18 and under are discounted 50% to $13 and $19.

Vendor's Gift and Craft Fair!  This event will take place on Saturday, March 20th, from 9:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. and Sunday, March 21st, from 11:00a.m. - 4:00p.m., at Armagh Volunteer Fire department.  Vendor's will have table with gifts and crafts for sale. Raffles will be held. Kitchen will be open with a bake good and soup sale.
All proceeds benefit "Lifetime Hunt" for a terminally ill child.

American Cancer Society Relay For Life Spring Event!  This event will take place on Saturday, March 20th, from 6:00p.m. - Midnight, at The American Legion, 1811 Ligonier Street, Latrobe.  The American Cancer Society Relay For Life at Latrobe invites you to ROCK The Night Away with The Zoo, Latrobe's own classic and modern rock band!  $12 per person includes admission, food & door prize drawings - Grand prize - Wii system - Cash bar. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life at Latrobe Memorial Stadium.

Women's Business Network - Latrobe Central Chapter.  This meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 23rd, starting at 7:45a.m., at Gino Giannilli's Homestyle Pizza and Restaurant, 200 Thompson Street, Latrobe. Purpose of the organization is for members to grow their circle of influence, improve their “60-second” commercial, and create lasting business and personal relationships to further their business growth within a supportive environment. Excela Health Site of Red Cross Blood Drive in March - This event will take place on Wednesday, March 24th, at The Founder’s Hall, Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette.  We all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later virtually everyone will face a time of great vulnerability, when blood will be needed. Often that time is all too unexpected.  The event is open to the public by appointment, although walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation time, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.

The Arc of Westmoreland’s Annual Open House - This event will take place on Friday, March 26th, from 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m., at The Arc of Westmoreland’s Programs and Administration Center and Founders Vocational Center located on Donohoe Road in Greensburg.  Light refreshments will also be available. Keynote speaker Steve Suroviec, executive director with The Arc of Pennsylvania, will be addressing guests at 11:00a.m. in the Programs and Administration Center with “state of the state” remarks. Intellectual Property: Patent Basics - The first of three workshops will take place on Wednesday, March 31st, from 10:00a.m. - 12.00p.m., at Saint Vincent College, Latrobe PA.  The first of three workshops that will focus on the different types of Intellectual Property and explore why IP rights are critical to the success of a business. A must for business owners, inventors, writers, non-IP attorneys, accountants, and more. ‘Patent Basics’ covers the basics of patent law, the legal rights associated with a patent, and the requirements to obtain a patent. It discusses the different types of patents and the prosecution process of acquiring one. FEE: $25 or $20/per person for two or more.

STOMP National Tour Returns to The Palace Theatre – Three Performances will take place on Friday, April 2nd, at 8:00p.m. and Saturday, April 3rd, at 2:00p.m. & 8:00p.m., at The Palace Theatre, 21 West Otterman Street, Greensburg PA. Touring off-Broadway since 1994, STOMP is a high-energy percussive symphony, coupled with dance, played entirely on unconventional instruments, such as garbage can lids, buckets, brooms and sticks. I Can’t Stop Now… I Know My Luck Will Change!  The Dynamics and Treatment of Gambling Addiction.  This seminar will take place on Wednesday, April 7th, from 9:00a.m. - 11:00a.m., in Cecilian Hall - Seton Hill University.  Presenter: Jody Bechtold.  Jody Bechtold, an expert in the identification and treatment of gambling problems, will explain the differences between gambling, problem gambling, and pathological gambling. She will discuss the similarities and differences between drug and alcohol addiction and pathological gambling and how the treatment of problem gamblers differs from work with substance abusers. The presentation will also help participants better understand the psychology behind the gaming industry.  The registration fee for the Seminar is $20.  Continuing education credits for social workers are available for processing fee of $10.

Doing Business with the Commonwealth.  This workshop will take place on Thursday, April 8th, from 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m., at Saint Vincent College, Latrobe PA.  This workshop provides the necessary information to anyone interested in doing business with the government. Topics will include: locating state contracting opportunities, how the state purchases goods and services, using state contracting to “grow” a small business, and state programs to help small businesses make use of contracting and subcontracting opportunities. The workshop will also cover certification of minority-owned and women-owned businesses. The owners of such businesses are especially urged to attend. The Ligonier Valley Writers - “Murder by Trowel and Error.”  This play will take place on Friday, April 16th and Saturday, April 17th, Doors open at 6:00p.m.; the play starts at 6:30p.m., at the First Reformed United Church of Christ, 312 South Maple Avenue, Greensburg.  The play is set at an archeological dig.  Tickets are $30 per person or $25 each if ordered in blocs of two or more.  There is free parking in nearby lots and on South Maple and Third Streets.

The Patriot Pony Project!  This event will take place on Saturday, June 12th, at Whispering Winds Farm Mount Pleasant PA.  The Patriot Pony Project is an equine based performance art exhibition. The project is a partnership between MachinePolitick and Whispering Winds; designed to promote patriotism and liberty through the utilization of a series of living canvases. The beautiful horses of Whispering Winds will be hand painted with non-toxic materials by Frances Byrd of MachinePolitick. Each painted horse will be a living manifestation of an original piece of art by the artist, designed specifically for this live event. At the end of the performance piece, there will be a short description of the projects formation and the artist's passion for Liberty and America as well as a description of her larger projects to promote those ideas through her art.

Westmoreland Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Support Group.  This support group will meet on the 2nd & 4th Thursday monthly, at The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Chambers, Hall Room 214.  The meetings start at 7:00p.m. The peer group members discuss and learn to identify symptoms and their effects, set goals and take positive action toward moderating and ameliorating symptoms and behavior.  Free and Confidential.

West Overton Museum will Hold -  “Antiques on Tuesday”.

Kiwanis Club of Greensburg Meetings -
Kiwanis Club of Greensburg meetings - The Kiwanis Club of Greensburg invites you to check out our organization by attending an upcoming meeting. Alzheimer's Association Support Group --
Attend this support group meeting at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in New Stanton on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30p.m. The support group is a gathering of people from many different circumstances who come together on a regular basis because they have a common concern - they have a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. A support group offers education and helps the caregiver to adjust, to cope, to relax a little, which helps the loved one afflicted with Alzheimer's disease. Greensburg La Leche League Meetings
.  First Thursday of each month.
