InWestmoreland.com was established in late 2002, and its first year
of service was 2003.
The purpose of InWestmoreland is to create a quality web presence
at an affordable price for businesses in Westmoreland County, and to
make web advertising a reality for small businesses whose concern is
greater exposure in the local marketplace.
InWestmoreland is a convenient, searchable web site where consumers
can find information on where to buy local products and services, 24
hours a day, seven days a week. InWestmoreland encourages the
support of Westmoreland County businesses and provides useful links to other government, community,
and service oriented web sites.
The idea for InWestmoreland came about when my wife's car died on
the road, explains Scot Noel, co-owner of Computers Made Easy. I use
the Internet for everything, and I wanted to find a towing service
close to where the car broke down. It was nearly impossible, and
what searchable sites I did find were cluttered, confusing, and
difficult to use. By typing five words into my browser, I could find
the best soil for planting begonias in seconds, but locating a local
towing service seemed out of the question.
After a few conversations with my wife, during which we both became
more and more enthusiastic about the idea, we decided to launch
InWestmoreland. The rules were simple. It had to be useful, easy to
search, and low in price. We wanted a clean, quality product devoid
of annoying ads. The results are here for you to see.
