American artists at the
Westmoreland Museum of American Art. Located in Greensburg, PA
the WMAA presents a distinctive collection of paintings, sculpture,
furniture and more that describe the heritage of our nation and of
the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.

The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art
at Ligonier Valley is located at One Boucher Lane and Route 711 South in
Ligonier. This museum, which has affiliate locations in Altoona, Johnstown,
and Loretto, exists to preserve, exhibit, and advance American art and is
dedicated to making its programs and activities accessible to the people of
the southwestern area of central Pennsylvania. The museum mounts exhibitions
designed to evoke an interest in and an understanding and appreciation of
American art.
Theaters
Live Theater and Dinner Theater are well represented in
Westmoreland County, and the variety of performances, from
concerts featuring the likes of Wayne Newton and Rickie Lee
Jones to lively musicals, comedies, and dramas ensures that
there is something for everyone throughout the year.
Located on 21 West Otterman Street in Greensburg, PA, and
home to the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra,
The
Palace Theatre has been a major force in Westmoreland
County's cultural scene for generations. Many of the
headline performances in Westmoreland County occur here.
The mission of the
Apple Hill
Playhouse is to preserve and advance the traditions of
live theatre through entertainment and education. With both
childrens and adult seasons, acting classes, and a dinner
package arrangement with the Lamplighter Restaurant, Apple
Hill Playhouse has become a Westmoreland County tradition.
Greensburg Civic Theatre
is one of only a few long-established, volunteer-based,
community theatre organizations in Westmoreland County,
Greensburg Civic Theatre is a non-profit corporation founded
to provide a forum for local actors and theatre craftsmen,
including costumers, set builders, and lighting and sound
technicians.
Stage Right is a school
for the performing arts and professional theatre company located in
Greensburg, Pennsylvania. They strive to bring high-quality, professional
musical theatre productions and education to Westmoreland County.
In its 58th season, New
Kensington Civic Theatre is a community theater that performs a wide
variety of musicals and plays throughout the year.

Westmoreland Cultural
Trust is a non-profit organization. It was originally formed to manage
and operate the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, as well as serve the
community on a much larger scale. The Westmoreland Cultural Trust manages
community assets and presents arts and entertainment in the area, provides
support services, and helps in developing a historical, cultural, and
entertainment district.
