Directions
Northmoreland Park serves the northern communities of
Westmoreland County. The park lies off of Route 356, south
of Vandergrift. From Delmont, take Route 66 North to the
intersection with Route 356 North (when the road Ys, keep
left on 356). In 3 miles, turn left onto Park Road at the
Northmoreland Park sign. Follow the signs to the park.
Overview
The largest of Westmoreland Countys parks, Northmoreland
Park covers 548 acres. The 17 acre lake, known as
Northmoreland Lake, provides both fishing and boating
opportunities and is stocked by the PA Fish Commission with
both warm water fish and trout. A paved walkway now makes a
complete circuit of the lake.
Northmoreland Park is famous for its BMX track, which is
operated by the Westmoreland BMX Club. The club operates May
through October, providing races and practice sessions and
serving over 100 youth members. A State Qualifier race is

Facilities
The Boathouse on the north shore of Northmoreland Lake is
open April through October each year and provides both
rowboat and pedal boat rentals. Concessions such as
sandwiches, snacks, and hot and cold beverages are
available. Fishermen may purchase bait here as well. The
Activities Center adjacent to the boathouse is available for
year round rental and includes a small kitchen, indoor
restrooms, and an air-conditioned meeting room.
Five ball fields, six soccer fields, a basketball court,
horseshoe pits, and a shuffle board court are available, as
are the A. Dean Orr tennis & racquetball courts. The
addition of several colorful play areas including sliding
boards and swings make Northmoreland Park a great getaway
for the entire family.
Eleven pavilions are located around Northmoreland Park, and
groups of up to 200 can be accommodated.
The Northmoreland Park R. C. Airplane Club operates a model
radio controlled airfield at Northmoreland Park.
Northmoreland Park features an Aluminum Recycling Center,
the proceeds of which go to benefit and fund projects at
Northmoreland Park. The Recycling Center is close to the
park entrance, simply follow the park signage.
Portions of Northmoreland Park are open for hunting.
Rest room facilities are available throughout the park.
Events
Events at Northmoreland Park include a Labor Day
Celebration, Fishing Derby, and Summer Concert Series. See
