Directions
From Greensburg in Westmoreland County, PA, proceed north
on Route 66 (Main Street) for 4 miles. Look for signs
directing you to the park on your right.
Description
Hempfield Park is located in northern Hempfield Township
and boasts a skate board park, multi-purpose court, one-mile
walking track, lighted tennis courts, basketball court,
volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, soccer fields, baseball
fields, and a bocce court.
The parks walking track winds along a peaceful, wooded trail
for approximately one mile and is open from 9:00 am to dusk.
Five handicapped accessible pavilions are available for
rent. Pavilions A & E are kitchen equipped and have a
capacity of approximately 320 persons. Pavilion D has a 192
person capacity, and Pavilions B & C accommodate up to 96
persons each. (The owners of InWestmoreland held their
wedding reception at Pavilion E: a lovely outdoor spring
event remembered fondly by all.)
Pavilions can be reserved for a fee, including deposit, by
contacting Hempfield Parks and Recreation at 724-836-7900 or
724-864-7600. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00
am to 5:00 pm. Reservations for 2004 will be taken beginning
February 9th, 2004.
Hempfield Parks and Recreation provides a wide variety of
programs and special events, from group trips to prime
shopping outlets, to special events like the Tiny Tykes
Race. Adult and childrens Aquatics are available, as well as
Pre-School, Children, and Teen activities, including Youth
Sports. Adult activities include Yoga, Step Aerobics,
Volleyball, and Golf. In September, a Fall Festival is held
at Hempfield Park.

Swede Hill Park
Directions
Swede Hill Park is located off Route119, south of
Greensburg, PA on Willow Crossing Road. From Greensburg,
proceed on Route 119 South to the traffic light at Willow
Crossing (at the Kings Restaurant). Turn Left and proceed
approximately 1 mile to the top of the hill. Look for Swede
Hill Park on your Right.
Description
Swede Hill Park offers a basketball court, a volleyball
court, horseshoe pits, play equipment, two ball fields, and
a community building with kitchen facilities. Both the park
as a whole and the community building are available for
rental. Non-residents pay an additional fee.

Recreation at 724-836-7900 or 724-864-7600. Office hours are
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Reservations for
2004 will be taken beginning February 9th, 2004.
