Description
This 52 acre community park is located along Memorial
Drive in downtown Latrobe, PA. A beautifully landscaped and
impressively equipped park, Legion Keener offers four
pavilions, a childrens playground, barbeque pits, a swimming
pool, stadium, and a fitness trail for walking, jogging, and
bicycling. Pavilions can be reserved for a fee, with the
largest having a 250 person capacity.
The playground at Legion Keener Park is remarkable in its
design. The first impression is one of a combination wooden
castle and play palace. There are slides, swings, mazes, and
towers for the kids to climb. It is well-designed to capture
the imagination of children.
The paved track, which meanders throughout the park and
circles back upon itself, is equipped as a fitness trail.
Stops along the track recommend stretches, sit-ups, jumping
jacks, pushups, etc., and there are balance beams and other
fixed pieces of exercise gear along the way.
There are also softball fields, tennis courts, soccer
fields, and the Rogers-McFeely Memorial Swimming Pool.
