Overview
Bridgeport Dam is a flood control dam located on Jacobs
Creek. The area offers fishing, hunting, and nature study
opportunities. The 70 acre lake, a continuation of the
wetlands along Brush Run & Jacobs Creek, includes a boat
launch. The fishery is managed by the Pennsylvania Fish
Commission. Carp, along with small white crappies and black
crappies are generally abundant in Bridgeport Dam.
At times of migration, birding enthusiasts can watch for
waterfowl, shorebirds, and gulls. The summer breeding season
may bring herons, kingfisher, warblers, flycatchers, and
more.
